TRANSLATING

Fienyx Translation provides high quality and professional translation services through a team of well qualified and experienced language translation experts.  We abide faithfulness and felicity ideals in translation. Faithfulness is the extent to which a translation accurately renders the meaning of the source text, without distortion. Felicity is the extent to which a translation appears to a native speaker of the target language to have originally been written in that language, and conforms to its grammar, syntax and idiom. Felicity is about conveying the true meaning of those words, in all its subtleties, so that the translation is inherently adapted to its target audience and localized for demographics, culture, and subject matter.

EDITING

Light Editing or Examining the Structure of the Text is for

• Spelling, capital word, typo, punctuation, format, and grammar;
• The sentence structures to reduce redundancy without lessen the essential meaning; 
• The alternative words, phrase or sentence to reduce ambiguity when the text is being read;
• The rhetoric, sentence, and paragraph in order to create continuous stream and easy text to read;
• We will give suggestions or comments to the writer if we find inappropriate data, fact or logic assertion.

Regular editing is for:

• Grammar, spelling and punctuation;
• Minor mistakes in syntax;
• Confusing, questionable and irregular using of words, phrases, and paragraphs (we will give comments and it is your decision whether or not to change it);
• Error in common facts and knowledge (For example: Harry Potter and the Secret Room is changed into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret);
• Changes the inappropriate words and phrases regarded to
• the subject of text and readership; Instances to use proper quotations, permissions in citing lyrics or images, may be needed.

Heavy Editing or Editing the Language Style, Writing Style for

• Grammar, Spelling, capital word, typo, punctuation, format, and grammar;
• The use of language that influence the effective communication and create easy text to read;
• Reorganization the illogical flow of meaning, repetitiveness, contradictory sentences or paragraphs (we will examine and correct the cohesion, coherent and parallelism of the text);
• The text presentation therefore clear and effective results can be attained; for example we will edit the title, illustration, table, number(s) also the quotation and reference(s) are sufficient;
• The choices of grammar, rhetoric, figure of speech in use;
• lThe pronouns and the conjunctions in order to create continuous flow between sentences and paragraphs;
• We will attach two versions of proofread document: 

o Version 1,

1 completed with commentaries and track changes, so you can see the changes suggested;

o Version 2,

2 the clean version already proofread and edited

• We will grant you space for any feedback on our editing outcome, however you must provide reasons, links or references in which you use to confirm the statements
• For fiction text especially, we will examine the problem in plot, characterization, plot consistency, overall structure, and momentum

PROOFREADING 

Regular Proofreading 

• Overall quantitative text difficulty is determined by the sentence length (averaging 9 -11 words in each sentence)
• Light Proofreading
• Overall quantitative text difficulty is determined by the sentence length (averaging 10-13 words in each sentences)
• Heavy Proofreading
• Overall quantitative text difficulty is determined by the sentence length (averaging 12-16 words in each sentences)

Additionally, the overall qualitative text difficulty is measured by the levels of meaning, structure, the language conventionality and clarity, and theme and knowledge demands.

• Spelling;
• Capitalization error;
• Typos;
• Punctuation;
• Minor errors by the writer/editor;
• Formatting error: word size, bold/ italic/ underline/strike through, space and indentation.
